Firefly Tour

Kuala Selangor is around 1 ½ hours drive from Kuala Lumpur. This tour takes visitors to Bukit Melawati and to view the firefly colonies.

Bukit Melawati is a place of history of the fight between the Dutch and the ruler of Johor and Riau. Explore the cannons that face the Selangor coast and the Execution Rock, the Althingsburg Lighthouse or the Royal Mausoleum. The top of the hill offers a panoramic scene of the Selangor coast. Visitors can also see the gentle silver-leafed monkey and the mischievous long-tailed macaques here and feed them with food bought from the vendors in the area.

At nightfall, cruise along the Selangor River and watch the Selangor coast light up with the twinkling of millions of fireflies. The Kuala Selangor firefly colony is one the of biggest in the world and no trip to Kuala Selangor would be complete without witnessing this awesome experience. Also, visitors will have a seafood dinner at the nearest local seafood restaurant by the river.
